A Bengali adaptation of Oedipus, the play, was performed in Pune and Kolkata by the Dishari group, based in Pune. A basic look for the play was created in order to lead the audience to the Grecian times. To not deviate them from the action and dialogues, the set was kept to a minimum on detail, and focused mostly on the larger shape and form.
Costumes that were designed were kept simple and not too lavish. Adornments were also subtle to not disturb character movement and choreography.
