After learning the basic fundamentals of film making at film school we were made to direct and edit a short film. The special part of this film was the fact that it was shot on 16mm black and white celluloid. Shooting on this kind of film is slowly becoming obsolete. Also due to the lack of a proper 16mm projector in our institute we couldn’t screen the film. Another special part was to edit the film on a 16mm editing Steinbeck machine! And the video is actually shot off the Steinbeck monitor with a handy digital camera.

Unfortunately the picture quality in the video is not so good and also the sound is not very clear.

Apart from making this film all of us in turn shot with the 16mm film camera; did sync sound recording on magnetic tape on Nagra, then transferred onto a sound negative; and edited after syncing with the film over Steinbeck.
